Key actions
At the heart of the
TRACE project are a series of Key Actions, piloted by partners from
European Industry Federations and from national trade union
confederations. The Key Actions address different aspects of industrial
restructuring, including:

Identifying significant trends within key industrial sector
-
Developing new approaches to the provision of training and retraining
and improving employability
-
Improving communication and co-ordination within European Works
Councils and with other bodies with worker representation operating at
European level
-
Examining the impact of restructuring on the local/regional economy
and exploring innovative mechanisms of collaboration with other actors
at this level
-
Exploring possible implications of EU enlargement for economic
restructuring and company relocation
-
Exploring major structural changes in the public sector in areas such
as education, health and central and local government
-
Improving understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks and social
policy at both European and national levels and their impact on
restructuring situations
-
Formulating strategies for social dialogue and collaborative action
with other actors in restructuring contexts
-
Redesigning trade union practices to match a changing economic
landscape.
